About UsGopal Porwal is the Founder and Director of Paaniram Society.
In the year 2000, Udaipur, hometown of Mr. Porwal was in drought. Water was in scarcity. At that time he decided to plant trees to combat climate change and get rainfall. He started on his own, and slowly people joined him which inspired him to start a non-profit organization, named Paaniram. In Hindi language, the word 'Paani' means Water and 'Ram' means God. Paaniram means that water is equivalent to God and is a essential component to survive. With the continued dedication and motivation of Mr. Porwal, Paaniram has succeeded in planting trees in several cities of Rajasthan, India, founded innovative ways to save water and control pollution caused by industrial waste. |
